Voice Lessons with John Murelle
John Murelle has been providing private vocal instruction at his studio in East Sandwich for over 20 years. In addition to being an active performer, his true passion is instructing and coaching serious and motivated students. His teaching is grounded in classical voice training traditions, emphasizing correct breathing, vowel formation, richness of tone and extending the vocal range, all areas of “bel canto” singing.
In addition to vocal technique, Mr. Murelle instructs students in ear training and sight-reading, musical terminology, song repertoire (both classical and popular), performance and audition techniques. Students take part in many studio recital and performance opportunities throughout the year in order to develop both the art of singing and performing. His students are frequently highlighted in school and community performances and some have been successfully placed in universities and conservatories majoring and minoring in voice performance.
