About John Murelle
Baritone John Murelle is a versatile singer and voice instructor with a wide range of musical interests, including art song, opera and oratorio, Broadway and popular songs. He holds Vocal Performance degrees from the University of Michigan and the Boston Conservatory, and a Diploma from the Boston University Opera Institute. John Murelle’s keen interest in song literature has earned him accolades as a concert singer.
His diverse programs include song cycles of Beethoven, Head, Fauré, Quilter, Ravel, Schubert, Schumann and Vaughan Williams, and highly acclaimed theme recitals including The Way You Look Tonight, The Songs of Jerome Kern, With A Song In My Heart The Songs of Rodgers and Hart, You’re The Top! The Songs of Cole Porter, Nice Work If You Can Get It, The Songs of George and Ira Gershwin, Let Yourself Go! The Songs of Irving Berlin, Cuban Passion, The Songs Of Ernesto Lecuona, If I Loved You, The Great Love Duets and A Song for Two with soprano Joan Kirchner, In A Sentimental Mood, the Songs of Duke Ellington and That’s Amore, pop songs from & about Italy.
In great demand as a voice teacher, John has maintained an active private voice studio in East Sandwich for over 20 years. His students regularly receive scholarships at recognized music schools throughout the United States. The studio presents three major public recitals a year which are open to the public.
